At Anderson Creek Club, a gated
golf community north of Spring Lake, five homes
have sold in the past two weeks.
When asked how that compares with
the past few months, Lee Handsel let out a laugh
— the kind that showed he really didn’t think
it was funny.
“It’s night and day,” said Handsel,
vice president of sales at Anderson Creek.
After a tumultuous 2008, some in
the region’s real estate market are seeing signs
of hope. Part of the optimism is based on how
last year’s home sales weren’t so bad in Fayetteville,
compared with the rest of the nation. And already
this month — amid plenty of bad economic news
— at least a few builders and agents are seeing
a welcome rise in activity.
