Pete Wither's history runs deep in Routt County.

His grandfather followed the Gold Rush to Hahn's Peak in 1888. When the gold played out, he moved the family mercantile to Steamboat Springs in 1902. Pete grew up in Steamboat and is well known and liked among the local community. He is married to Barbi, and has two children.

He was a fixture at the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation for many years, most recently as the Ski Patrol Director. He also started the Mtn. Bike program for the ski resort and designed many of the Mt. Bike trails in use on the mountain today. Look out for Pete's Wicked Trail when riding your bike on the mountain this summer.

Pete is an avid outdoorsman, but he has always found time to give back to the community. He was on the City Council for eight years from 1983-1991. He has been President of the Tread of Pioneers Museum, the Rocky Mountain Youth Corp, and recently was the President of the Routt County Riders Bicycle Club and the City of Steamboat Springs Parks and Recreation Commission. Pete recently received the Leckenby Pioneer Award, which recognizes community and youth involvement by a person with ties to the early Steamboat pioneers.

Pete always had an interest in the real estate market because of its diversity and huge significance to the local economy, and got his real estate sales license in the 1970s. Now, he is happy to be associated with Colorado Group Realty as a full time professional Owner/Broker and has enjoyed considerable success in the business. Pete was recently named Colorado Group Realty's Broker Associate of the year and has consistently been in the top 10% of all brokers in Steamboat. He is based at Colorado Group's downtown office located at 509 Lincoln Ave. Pete recently completed a comprehensive course which focuses on the unique needs and practices of recreation and resort property sales giving him the designation of Recreation and Resort Specialist or RRS, and is a certified EcoBroker to promote the environment and help save energy. He is committed to long lasting relationships with his clients and believes that the closing is just the beginning, and that relationships are as important as deals. Known as a skilled listener, Pete specializes in helping both locals and visitors to achieve their Real Estate goals.
