The call of Colorado began for me as a young man growing up in Texas. Summers working on a guest ranch solidified my plan of moving to Colorado after graduation from Southern Methodist University followed by an around-the-world trip with the Navy.

The real estate world attracted me and I began a long career in brokerage, appraisals, and development. Since becoming a broker in 1972, I have worked in the industry in Denver, Evergreen, and Steamboat. Countless ski and camping trips throughout the state steered me and my wife Patti to Steamboat Springs.

Since 1982 we have enjoyed a lifestyle in the valley with lots of skiing, hiking, camping, and my favorite, fly-fishing. We have a daughter, Heidi, who ski raced for years with the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club and is now a physical therapist living in Palo Alto. Patti has for years had a training/seminar business and also teaches at Colorado Mountain College. She can often be found either on the golf course or at the tennis center.

Helping builders select sites, incorporate the appropriate features into their homes, and complete the successful marketing of those homes, is something I really enjoy. I have specialized in the development and building side of the business, with involvement in projects like the Evergreens, Landings, Cornerstone Townhomes and Fish Creek Professional Buildings. To me, there just aren't many places as special as Steamboat, with the opportunity to meet so many great people. Living and working here is truly a privilege. I am always looking forward to another season in the valley and to spending more time in the real estate arena. If I am not in town, I am probably chasing fish in some mountain stream or on some distant saltwater flat.
