Born and raised in Steamboat Springs, I graduated from Colorado State University in 1977 and started in the real estate business in Steamboat in 1978. I married Chris Villa in 1983 and we have one daughter, Hayley, born in 1992. Together, we enjoy camping, boating, fishing and snow-mobiling. I very much enjoy maintaining and improving our ranch north of Steamboat, and elk hunting there in the fall. I am a past Director and Vice President of the Steamboat Springs Board of Realtors. In 1998, I was awarded Broker Associate of the Year and in 2003, awarded Top Producer. From 1992 to 2002, I was appointed to the Routt County Planning Commission. During that time, I assisted in many efforts which I feel will help keep this area unique and desirable for visitors and locals alike. I am very proud of the adoption of the Land Preservation Subdivision process, which allows land owners to sell parcels of land smaller than 35 acres. We hope this helps preserve agriculture, open spaces and wildlife habitat. Ours was the first County in the State to create and adopt this process. During my tenure, I served as City Representative and Chairman. I remain proud of our County and hope others share in my belief that Routt County is a special place. I believe that conserving many of the rural features of Routt County will be the most effective way to keep this area separate and unique from other rapidly developing rural areas. My interests lie in rural and recreational properties, which I have been selling for over 25 years. I have excellent relationships with local title insurance companies, surveyors, attorneys, environmental professionals, excavation companies and County personnel.
